Unschooling & Cooking

Letting children work in kitchen with their will & interest, they discover many talents, have ideas & cook their way. They have time to explore & experiment.

Cooking is life long skill & must be associated with fun, not fear. Being able to cook for oneself & people of house is a total satisfaction & not relying on others.

DO TELL children about kitchen hazards e.g. gas, sharp knife, slippery floor. Tell them precautions like tying hair, wear slippers, rollup sleeves, being vigilant while handling gas stove, check any leaks and make sure to turn off gas. Monitor them!

DO APPRECIATE no matter how the food tastes. It’s all part of learning.

DO NOT disturb children while they are experimenting or playing with raw material or not cooking properly or roaming around house while food is going crazy on stove. It’s all part of healthy learning.

DO NOT compare their food with yours or anyone else.
DO not yell when food is being cooked carelessly or is bad in taste or even when wasted.

Cook easy,
