1. SELECT

Following are the steps  to organized data in a meaningful form.

When the Conditional Formatting Rules Manager window appears, click on the "New Rule" button to enter the first condition.

When the New Formatting Rule window appears, select Format only top or bottom ranked values as the rule type.
Then select Top in the first drop down, and enter 1 in the final box. In our example, we've selected only the first top value.
Next, we need to select what formatting to apply when this condition is met. To do this, click on the Format button.

When the Format Cells window appears, select the Fill tab. Then select the color that you'd like to see for the highest value in the range. In this example, we've selected green. Then click on the OK button.

When you return to the New Formatting Rule window, you should see the preview of the formatting in the Preview box. In this example, the preview box shows green as the fill color. Next click on the OK button.

This will return you to the Conditional Formatting Rules Manager window.
You will need to click on the New Rule button again.

When the New Formatting Rule window appears, we need to set up the second condition.
Select Format only top or bottom ranked values as the rule type.
Then select Bottom in the first drop down, and enter 1 in the final box. In our example, we've selected only the first bottom value.
Next, we need to select what formatting to apply when this second condition is met. To do this, click on the Format button.

When the Format Cells window appears, select the Fill tab. Then select the color that you'd like to see for the lowest value in the range. In this example, we've selected red. Then click on the OK button.

Now when you return to the spreadsheet, the conditional formatting will be applied. As you can see, the -3 value appears in a red cell while the 200 value appears in a green cell.

If you just highlight the row or column and hit the delete key then the contents disappear

Abstract

This write-up describe the brief concept about black box testing  and data manipulation operations .

Black box testing is attempts to find errors in the external behavior of the code like incorrect or

missing functionality, interface errors, errors in data structures used by interfaces, behavior or

performance errors. Data manipulation is the process of changing data to make it organized or

meaningful form

Introduction

Black box Testing

Black box testing is the Software testing method which is used to test the software without knowing the internal structure of code or program. -. For example, in a black box test on a software design the tester only knows the inputs and what the expected outcomes should be and not how the program arrives at those outputs. The tester does not ever examine the programming code and does not need any further knowledge of the program.

 

Advantages

·         The tester does not need knowledge of any specific programming languages.

·         Test is performed from a user’s point-of-view and not of the designer’s

·         Test cases can be designed as soon as the specifications are complete.

Disadvantages

·         The reason for a failure is not found.

·         Testing every possible input stream is not possible because it is time-consuming and this would eventually leave many program paths untested.

·         Chances of having repetition of tests that are already done by programmer.

Purpose of Each Consistency Area

Data manipulation is the process of changing data in an effort to make it easier to read or more organized. For example, a log of data could be organized in alphabetical order, making individual entries easier to locate. Data manipulation is often used on web server logs to allow a website owner to view their most popular pages as well as their traffic sources.

A data manipulation language (DML) is a family of syntax elements similar to a computer programming language used for selecting, inserting, deleting and updating data in a database. Performing read-only queries of data is sometimes also considered a component of DML.

How to create a database on SQL Server management studio? A tutorial.

SQL stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is used to communicate with a database. SQL statements are used to perform tasks such as update data on a database, or retrieve data from a database. Some common relational database management systems that use SQL are Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Access etc. Although most database systems use SQL, most of them also have their own additional proprietary extensions that are usually only used on their system.

SQL code is divided into four main categories:

• Queries are performed using  SELECT statement, which is further divided into clauses, including SELECT, FROM, WHERE and ORDER BY.
• Data Manipulation Language (DML) is used to add, update ,select or delete data like SELECT,UPDATE,INSERTE, DELETE commands
• Data Definition Language (DDL) is used for managing tables and index structures. Examples of DDL statements include CREATE, ALTER, TRUNCATE and DROP.
• Data Control Language (DCL) is used to assign and revoke database rights and permissions. Its main statements are GRANT and REVOKE.

First you have to select server type which is database engine  and then you have to  type your computer name on server name . if you don’t know your pc name then go to mycomputer then right click on it and then select properties .if you give windows authentication then there is no need to type user name or password but if you select sql server authentication then you must have to type login or password after that click on connect button.

Right click on database and select new database

Give database name and then press ok button.

Your database is created.

ARMEZ - The tech-startup of NEDUET

It was the nick of time when the group of four girls who are behind this technological and striking project, were on a thoughtful path of choosing final year project (FYP). The very path was leading them to choose between just marks or brilliance. While taking care of marks, they took the brilliant path, no doubt. The path was toilsome indeed as they had to literally put their sleep, sweat, and seconds on the path but they were happy as they were using their engineering skills to shape a project that was meant more than a project to them. They took their entrepreneurial endeavors along with maintaining high grades and dived into the world of braininess to deliver one of the best FYP of NED. After all what’s the use of a project or degree or knowledge if the world is not getting benefit from it?

“It was the time when we were quite confused about the selection of an appropriate Final Year Project, when this idea was proposed by our mentor Dr. Khurram”, says Nimra Idrees Fazil.

Among hundreds of FYPs, this FYP was presented not just to get marks, not just to make a good report, not just to get a degree but also to achieve a shear, dynamic, eye-catching, and ambitious goal. The goal of using the engineering knowledge for the better of society and for the technology itself. The girls took the very FYP a step ahead and made it spectacular, obliging, and gratifying for others. The FYP has now morphed into a tech-startup which has emerged as ARMEZ in the technological realm. As they are now part of entrepreneurial environment; they realize that taking risks, dealing with uncertainties, and working outside of work hours is what one can expect. But they are more motivated than ever before and want to take ARMEZ to an elevated level where not only it is self-sustainable but also able to create jobs for others.

Shaping ARMEZ – The challenges

This staggered project was intelligently brought into existence with continuous and strong-willed struggle & perseverance. The four girls were working in the lab focusing on the project while experiencing the dynamics of team work to achieve milestones as they were transforming a basic FYP into a well-defined product. They endured numerous challenges from hardware designing to mechanical fittings, from working whole day to work even during late hours after a tiring day, from brainstorming in the lab to visiting the market, from debugging software glitches to taking care of the hardware aesthetics, and working towards their goal outside of comfort zone while tackling the negativities of the society.

“The first challenge we came across was to achieve a desired range which we managed to accomplish after numerous efforts”, says Nimra Idrees Fazil.

How the ARMEZ’s amazing four feel now?

ARMEZ has already launched its debut project in Arena. The girls feel even more driven towards delivering further projects as they want ARMEZ to thrive in terms of technology and expand in terms of clients. With success comes responsibility; the responsibility of carrying the success with good hopes for the future while being an exemplary start-up that juniors in the lab and in NED can follow in terms of strenuous and dedicated hard work.    

“We have achieved amazingly well in short period of time. Yet we know, there is a long way to go”, says Ramla Kaleem Shah.

“We will go in all directions, through all difficulties in order to make it self-sustainable”, says Sheena.

Nothing should stop you from striving towards your dreams like societal thinking that how weak you are, peer-pressure, the university you study in, or the country you live in. There is only one thing that hinders you from triumphing; YOU. Try finding the guts within YOU, get the idea, plan it, then do it. Who is stopping YOU?

Munching Mood – Eat healthy food

Even though when we have had a main meal, there are times when cravings develop between meals. When there are cravings and it is not the time of meal, usually we can much whatever we get hands on. It is better to have fewer calories munching food handy at home and outside of home as well. Here are few suggestions for a healthy munch. Munching on these not only takes mind off the unhealthy munching stuff like sweets and other fattening stuff but also helps achieve a healthy and smart body. 

Nuts & Dry fruits

Nuts like almonds, walnuts, pistachios, peanuts, and cashews are good munching options. They do not have many calories and can be taken whenever stomach asks for a top-up. Nuts can be carried along when we are outside of home as well. Nuts are savory and make you feel fuller till the next meal. Nuts even help in a healthy weight loss.    

Raisins, dates (fresh or dry), figs, and apricots not only tackle your sweet tooth but also keep you away from a big bar of chocolate or 2 scoops of ice cream. These are rich in vitamins. They improve your health conditions and help in weight loss.

Fruits & Vegetables

The new research says that you do not need to count calories or starve for weight loss. This is the era of healthy weight loss and not just weight loss. Apples, citrus fruits like oranges, melons, berries, and even bananas can be munched without having pressure of what am I eating?

Fresh veggies like cucumber, carrot, beet, radish, and lettuce can be turned into a salad at home or even munched; on as is where is basis when outside of home. Then you won’t have to stop at a fries shop or bakery.    

Milk & Yogurt

Milk and yogurt should be part of daily intake as both contain calcium and vitamin D. They not only make keep bones strong but also help slowing down the ageing process. Next time you crave for a fizz & chips, get milk with little amount of cereal or yogurt with fruits or nuts. 

Most people do not consider milk and yogurt as part of daily diet, but these are very important as calcium is not only important for bones, but it is important for teeth as well. Strong bones keep away many problems like osteoporosis, bone density reduction, fragile bones, fractures in the case of sudden shock, tooth fall at early age, and pain in the bones.  

Roasted dry peas & Saunf

Sometimes we are full, have munched as well but still craving. Fennel seeds i.e. saunf and roasted dry peas can be used for that purpose. Keep it at home, in office or in bag. They have long shelf life and keep you satisfied. Saunf is good for oral hygiene and eye sight. Roasted dry peas are a crunchy option for a healthy munch.

The 3 Color Lake - A kids' story

Once there was a girl. She liked to do power full things like hiking, wall climbing, running, and horse riding. But she didn’t use to like swimming or diving because she was afraid of water. One day she was on a hiking trip. She was hiking for hours and then she was near the peak of a small mountain. As she watched down the mountain to see how high she is, suddenly her ring got off her finger and dropped down. The ring that she was wearing was the birthday gift from her mom so it was a special ring. She tried to hold it but it was too late and the ring dropped deep down into a 3 color lake. The lake was blue, green, and red.

The girl started coming down the mountain, as she wanted to get her ring. It took hours before she could reach the lake in which her ring was dropped. When she reached the lake, she saw that the lake was of 3 colors, means there were three parts of the lake. One part was blue, other was green and the third was red. She came near the blue part first and saw that the water was very fresh and clean that is why that part was blue. She called out for someone as she didn’t know swimming so she could not go herself inside the lake. From the blue part of the lake, a dolphin whose name was Machlee took out her head. The girl asked Machlee if it could help her finding her ring. Machlee was nice so it went back into the lake but after sometime it came out and told the girl that there is no ring in her blue part of the lake.

Then the girl went to the green part of the lake and saw that there were too many weeds and plants that is why that part was green. She called out for someone, then a hippopotamus named Floria came out. Floria was also nice so it searched for the girl’s ring but couldn’t find it. Then the girl asked Machlee & Floria to find her ring in the red part but they told that the red part belongs to a crocodile named Dile and it was very mean so they couldn’t go to red part. The girl went to red part of the lake and saw that there were many red rocks in that part that is why that part was red. She called out for someone for help but no one came out and the girl understood that Dile must be mean that is why it was not coming to help her.

Then the girl didn’t cry as she was a brave girl. But she thought that if she had learnt swimming she could have gone in the red part of the lake to get her ring herself and she didn’t have to ask anyone to help her to find her ring. Only if she knew swimming. So she thought and thought that what to do? She couldn’t let her ring go so easily because it was a birthday present after all. But she was stuck. Dile was not coming out to help her and she couldn’t go into the lake herself as she was afraid of water.
